Renowned as one of the top bariatric surgeons in Chennai with an experience of more than 6 years, Dr. Deepak has performed over 2000 Basic and Advanced laparoscopic surgeries, and around 3000 Upper GI Endoscopies. He has gained varied exposure in the fields of Digestive Care, Minimal Access Surgery and Bariatric Surgery over these years, empowering him to provide the best care there is in these aspects. The Chennai Gastroenterology centre is one of the few institutions to be established under the leadership of experienced laparoscopic surgeon in Chennai.

He is currently the Senior consultant, Laparoscopic (GI) and Bariatric surgeon at GEM Hospitals, Chennai. His academic repertoire is not limited to but includes, professional memberships from Medical Council of India International Federation of Surgery for Obesity Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India IAGES Medical Education, Fellow in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery and Fellow in Minimal Access Surgery- AMASI, MRCS (Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh). His educational qualification is established through the Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery – EITS , Strasbourg , France, 2008 M.S. (General Surgery) from Sri Ramachandra University, 2007 and M.B.B.S. from Sri Ramachandra Medical College, 2004.
